This week I'll cover three more common inquiries by those new to Norrath in hopes that I'll save a few people the time they would normally spend typing out their questions and awaiting the answers. Time which should preferably spent Questing and Adventuring in Norrath!

I spend an awful lot of time helping out players new to EverQuest II. In the forums. In game. And, even here on the Allakhazam forums and IRC Chat. For the most part, its very rewarding. Recently however, I'm seeing a new breed of questions becoming more and more consistent in the New Player forums and chat rooms. In this installment I'll cover the first of three increasingly disturbing inquiries from our newest additions to the world of Norrath.

On A Vampire Holiday

I just wanted to pop in and apologize for the lack of updates. I'm in the process of moving right now and have had a lot to take care of before I leave.

Around, the beginning of May I will be updating the site with the new artwork as promised and I'll be back to blogging all the things you hate to read so much!

Ludicrous Post of the Year

Over the course of the year I take note of little gems posted in various forums and eventually nominate a "Ludicrous Post of the Year" award to one.

My nomination this year...

"Please, just get rid of PvP.

We could get rid of half of the complaints on the forums, and many of the issues in PvE brought on by PvP changes that have unintended consequences in PvE.

Congrats Jardor! You went that extra mile and suggested that Genocide of a play style was the only solution to the occasional bleed over from updates in a video game!

What do you do in your spare time? Kick Role Players and demand their lunch money?

[EQ2] Game Update 42 Details Released

A preview of the updates included in Game Update #42 were released yesterday. And, I for one am very excited about a few aspects of this update.

1. Epics are back! This doesn't mean a whole lot to me as I rarely raid. But, those hard core players will find the concept art thrilling!

2. 3 new Deities are making a return to Norrath. The Tribunal, Karana the Stormbringer and Bertoxxulous the Plaguebringer. I am especially fond of "Bert" seeing as SOE has chosen to guise him as a Ratonga!

3. New Pet Control is an absolute blessing to the summoner classes. Many of the command line functions will no longer be necessary with this update. I know a few pet lovers out there that are going to be very happy with this update to the UI. And, quite a few custom UI designers who are going to be beating their heads against the wall as well. ;)

4. A Connectivity Tool is also being added to the game. I love this idea. It gives me an opportunity to slap those people who smack talk Sony's servers when their own ISP or connection is to blame! :)

5. Armor and Weapon Display Mannequins are probably my biggest joy to come from this update! I can't wait to display all the gear I've spent tons of plat on but had to retire after reaching a new tier. I'm going to dedicate an entire room in my Neriak mansion for my collection. Sort of like a wax museum! XD

6. Broker search update is something I'm a little confused by. But, since I haven't been on the Test server yet, I don't want to pass judgement. I'm quite content with the current search feature. But, as long as it makes searches easier and note more complicated, I'm game!

Watch for this update on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week!
